GRWM: Make Up (Part 1)

Hello beautiful earthlings!
It was such a beautiful day out the other day that I decided to doll up a little.  This "Get Ready With Me"/GRWM post is going to be split into two: Makeup and OOTD.
I decided to do this blogspot since I was planning to review a quad that I have. So I told myself that it would not hurt if I just do my whole makeup routine that day.
Beware that this is another photo-filled post!

This is me with no make-up on whatsoever. I have just watched my face and moisturize.  (Excuse my messy background. I cleaned our room the next day I took the photos)

I use Etude House Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream as my base almost every time that I wear makeup. BB creams are lightweight compared to foundations which I prefer.
I just dispense half a pump onto my finger and put dots across my face that needs coverage. I would normally put it across my forehead, my nose, dark circles and a bit on the cheeks and chin.  I would dispense just a tiny bit more if I needed more to cover my dark circles or problematic spots.  I would just use my clean fingers to blend the product onto my face since the warmth helps the BB cream blend well and it's faster and more convenient than using a brush in my opinion.
I would let set the BB cream with ELF's HD powder using ELF's complexion brush. (I would link the products down below since I will list all of them out.)

I don't know if there is a difference but I prefer using just a bit of BB cream to cover imperfections rather than caking everything on.  I dislike the feeling of caked up make-up so yeah.

I use Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Auto Pencil to define my weak-game-brows.

Like every other beauty guru out there, defining the eyebrows does give more umph one's look.  I just fill them according to how my eyebrows are groomed.  But honestly, the shape differs every time I fill them in.  I try to not fill them in so harshly since no one likes sharpie eyebrows (well I do not personally like them but if you sport the look, good on you! :D)

I used ELF's eye primer to prime my eyes to keep my eyeshadow and eyeliner last longer.   This primer does an okay job.  It does not make my eye make-up last longer as my Etude House eye primer though.

I used Catrice's 040 Never Let Me Go eyeshadow quad for my eye make-up as well as the tools I used.  I used brush 1 to pat the peachy colour all over my lids.  Using the second brush in the photo from Oriflame, I used that to pack the cool brown eyeshadow onto my crease and blended it to soften out the look.  I used brush 3 to sweep the dark brown onto my lower lash line.

Using Maybelline's brown gel liner, I lined my eyes.  I figured to use a brown eyeliner for that "sweet, innocent, natural" look since brown eyeliner is less harsh than black.

I curled my lashes with Etude House's eyelash curler and coated my lashes with the mascara from collection. It is a meh mascara to be honest.  I have tried something better.

This is the finished eye make-up look.

I used a peachy/an almost orange blush to celebrate spring arriving here in Dublin.  The blush is more orange-y in person than in the photo due to my bad lighting.

I lightly applied the blush to the apples of my cheeks using ELF's blush brush.

I dabbed Rimmel's Kate Matte lipstick in the inner part of my lips to give me that ombre lip colour/"just bitten lips" effect.

Excuse my hair for getting in the way! Haha

And here's the finished look!  The BB cream that I wore oxidized a bit also the lighting made my face look orangey than usual in my opinion. It's very simple and easy to do.  I don't have an "everyday make-up" routine since I like to change my look every time.  I normally wear just eyeliner on days when I feel extra lazy and even then, my eyeliner shape differs each time.
Here are the products that I used for this look:

  1. Etude House Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream in W13 (I have a feeling that EH has discontinued this line as I cannot find it anywhere anymore)
  2. ELF High Definition Powder in Sheer
  3. Rimmel Kate Matte lipstick in Vibrant Coral 110
  4. Collection 2000 Supersize mascara (for volume) in Brown/Black
  5. Catrice Absolute Eye Colour Quad in 040 Never Let Me Go
  6. Etude House Drawing Eyebrow auto pencil in Dark Gray
  7. Catrice Defining Blush in Love and Peach
  8. ELF Studio Eyeshadow Primer in Sheer
  9. Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Brown
  10. ELF Studio Complexion Brush
  11. ELF Studio Blush Brush
  12. ELF Studio Small Precision Brush
  13. Oriflame Blending Brush
  14. ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush
  15. Maybelline Eyeliner Brush (this was included when you purchase the gel liner)
  16. Etude House Eyelash Curler
I know I should have linked ELF's UK website instead of the US site but according to their Facebook page, they are renovating their wesbite to improve their service.  When I was going through the site, they only showed three items in their tools section.

So this wraps up Part 1 of my GRWM post.  I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it.  It was just really time consuming take photos of the products you use and the make-up process! I salute those who does these kind of posts regularly!

Disclaimer: I am not paid by any of the brands mentioned in this post. I purchased them with my own money.

Peace & Love!

Manicure Monday: Catrice 780 Welcome to Rosywood

Hello beautiful earthlings!
It has been such a long time since I last posted anything for Manicure Monday!

For today's ManiMon, I am using a very girly, rosy colour as we are now transitioning into spring.  I noticed that SoothingSista was wearing a rosy nail polish in her February favourites video and I told myself that it was such a pretty colour for spring. And I happen to have a similar colour but only darker,

I really enjoy using Catrice's nail polish. They dry quickly and they manage to stay on my nails for about 4 days without chipping which is good for me. Normally, nail polishes tend to chip on the second day.

I noticed with this nail polish is that the more coats you apply, the darker the colour gets. One sheer coat gives you that really pink rosy kind of colour.  I am still not sick of the matte nail trend so I applied a matte top coat on my index and middle finger,  The matte top coat I used was ELF's Wild Shine Matte Top Coat.  Click here to see my review of it.

I hope you all would have an amazing and blessed week ahead!

Peace & Love!

ELF Haul: Brushes, Beauty Book, and more!

Hi lovely guys and gals! How have you all been?! I'm quite glad that my exams are now finally over and now the dreaded exam results are what we all are waiting for. I pray that I pass all my modules.
Anyways, I'm here to present you a haul from ELF Cosmetics.  I have ordered a bunch of things from their website.

So here it is

The package came in a box like this one
An invoice was in the package along with the products
Here is what the inside looks like. They have placed the smaller products on top
This is then the second layer where the bulkier and bigger products were.
I was impressed that they shredded cardboard paper to ensure that the products won't be damage through delivery.

Here's a more closer look of what products I got. (I also have the direct links provided)

  • Beauty book in Natural Look (Got these two as presents for my sister and a friend who just had a birthday)
I was really pleased with the delivery since I got these in less than 2 weeks compared to the first time that I ordered and I only had 2 items! Thank you Adele (Her name was printed at the invoice saying that she was the only who picked up my order). I will be reviewing these products but I think it will take a while! I will have a gel eyeliner review soon! I just need one more day of testing it for me to finalize my thoughts on it :)

Disclaimer: This haul/blog post is not a form of bragging or anything of that sort. Also, I was not paid by the company to feature this. I bought all of the items here with my own money.

Review: Elf Matte Finisher VS Wet N Wild Matte Top Coat

Hi beautiful people of the blogosphere~
In this blog post, I will be reviewing and comparing matte top coats from ELF and Wet N Wild. Both are afforable in price but which one stands out more than the other?

Wet N Wild Matte Top Coat
I applied one coat of the Wet N Wild Matte Top Coat just on my ring fingernail
Here's what the brush applicator looks like.
(Sorry for the bad photo. The camera could not detect the brush)

  • PROs
    • Price - I bought it for only € 1.99 at Penney's.  It is also available at Dunnes Stores
    • Drying time - It dries instantly! So a big yay!
    • Availability - The product can be found all over Dublin with its carriers
  • CONs
    • Can be streaky when applied improperly
    • "Matte duration" - Keeps your nail polish matte on the first day of application however the polish would then have a bit of shine on the second day making it semi-matte
ELF Matte Finisher

I applied one coat of the ELF Matte Finisher on the middle finger nail as labelled above
The brush applicator of the ELF Matte Finisher
  • PROs
    • Price - I bought it for € 3.06 at ELF's UK website
    • Drying time - It dries quickly the same as the Wet N Wild
  • CONs
    • Scent - This has a strong scent that gives me headaches and it stays for about a day or two in your nails. Also the scent lingers in your room for so long without proper ventilation
    • Availability - Others might find it a disadvantage that you can only buy this product online (Well in Ireland we don't have stalls of ELF). Others are not too keen on buying products online
    • "Matte duration" - The matte-ness of the nail polish fades as the days goes by. It is very matte on the first day of application but then on the second day and so on, the matte-ness tends to fade and turns your polish to its original texture
Here's a gif that I made of comparing the two polishes on Day 1 and 2 with a flash on my camera
Comparison:
  • You can see that on Day 1, both matte top coats give the same matte texture
  • On Day 2, you can see that WNW's matte top coat is still matte compared to ELF's which gives a shine
  • Also the WNW is cheaper compared to ELF and it's more available to me. From this you can see that I would probably repurchase WNW instead of ELF

I hope that this is very helpful and informative enough for you guys. I also hope that you enjoyed this post. Please forgive my terrible gif. I got lazy to edit it further for it to look properly! Haha
Wishing everyone a happy and beautiful day!

Stay blessed!
